Sound for Television and Film
On set location Sound Recordist and Boom Operator. I have expereince working on feature films, adverts, short films and corporate videos. I have been working in the industry since 2018 and have recently been selected as one of the Sound Assistants for the Screen Skills Trainee Finder HETV Scheme 20/21.
I am always extremely professional on set and work quickly to ensure there are no hold ups on shoots.
I have always had a strong passion for sound and audio and how important it is with moving images. I studied music at Manchester University and my dissertation looked at the scores of Bernard Herrmann and how they helped convey the storyline. During my studies, I worked as a runner for The BBC and Granada studio and after I graduated I worked as a facilities assistant for a post production company.
I moved back up to Scotland in 2007 and started a PGDE at Moray House, Edinurgh University. I qualified as a teacher in 2008 and spent my probation year at Madras College in St. Andrews. After my probation year was complete, I gained permanent employment at Glenrothes High School where I taught until 2016.
2017, I started my re-training to finally pursue my dream of working in film and television in the form of an HND in Sound Production at Edinburgh College. I completed this in 2019 (GradeA) and have been moving from strength to strength.
Between 2020 - 2022 I was on the Screen Skills Trainee finder for HETV as a Sound Trainee(The Scheme for this cohort was extended due to covid). During my time on the scheme, I got to be apart of some fantastic projects including: Gentleman Jack (Series 2), Screw and Good Omens (Series 2). I still work as a Sound Recordist in between projects.

I have been picked to be a sound trainee on the High End TV Trainee Finder Scheme run by Screen Skills. There were about 2000 applicants and I was picked as one of the 130 trainees across the UK.
I have haved the first stage of becoming Pro Tools Certified. Unfortunately I was meant to complete the 110 course just before the Covid-19 lock down but the course was cancelled. I am working through the course myself and hope to be certified before the end of the year.
Happy to have spent my Covid-19 lock down learning useful skills and have completed Level 1 in Dante.
Level 2 passed - I enjoyed that there was a 'hands on' element as part of this assessment. I was able to use a simulator to set up a Dante network and resolve 'fan out' issues using multicast.
Preparing for work after the Covid-19 lock down has ended and am fully prepped in how to prevent the spreading of Covid-19.
I love meeting new directors and producers with exciting stories to tell. Reach out to see what I can do for you. Happy to travel for work.
